Clifton Nurseries has been part of London’s horticultural landscape since 1851. Hidden behind the streets of Maida Vale, it has long been a destination for gardeners, landscape architects and designers seeking not only exceptional plants, but beautifully made tools and objects for outdoor living.
It was here that Munder Skiles founder John Danzer discovered an unassuming vintage potting bench. Built for work rather than display, its appeal lay in its quiet practicality. Strong, simple and beautifully proportioned, it was the sort of object that had earned its place through years of use.
Munder Skiles reinterpreted the character and form of that original piece for contemporary living. Crafted in solid teak using traditional joinery, the Orchard Stand retains the honesty and versatility of the piece that inspired it, while offering the refinement of a modern heirloom.
Available in three standard sizes, it adapts effortlessly to different ways of living, serving as a potting bench, drinks station, outdoor kitchen or entrance console. For larger projects, it can also be made to bespoke dimensions, including credenza-style pieces, and finished in painted colours to suit its surroundings.
Like the vintage bench that inspired it, the Orchard Stand is defined not by a single purpose, but by its usefulness. Designed to work hard, age beautifully and quietly earn its place over time.
