FSC-certified teak and select hardwoods. Weathers naturally to silver-gray, or holds color through hand-applied paint.
Taconic™
Winner of the 1993 Interior Design Magazine Roscoe Award for Best American Chair, the Taconic dining chair was the beginning of this ergonomic collection of teak slats, including chaises and oval tables. Since the beginning, Munder-Skiles has focused on ergonomics for comfort, not cushions. Inspired by Samuel Gragg’s Elastic Chair from 1809, we employed back doctors and chiropractors to help optimize comfort for people of various sizes.
A Broader Vocabulary
Our work is designed to remain in context — complementing nature rather than competing with it. But our true distinction lies in breadth.
With more than 180 designs in three materials spanning traditional
to modern, designers are not confined to a uniform “suite,” but can compose layered, nuanced environments. The silhouettes are distinctive,
often unexpected, yet versatile enough to sit comfortably within a
wide range of architectural settings.
